Interesting to see Australia’s Labor Government supporting 20,000 leagues under the sea being filmed here. To the tune of a reported $20million. Supporting big production is something I am very supportive as there are proven benefits of having films produced in your country.
Not a fan of the Brad Pitt hype, but would be interested in seeing the remake of 20,000 leagues under the sea.
But boy did the Australian unions, New Zealand Unions, the opposition parties and in particular the MEAA act like spoilt brats when the hobbit came to NZ, almost killing it off and destroying a multimillion dollar boom to New Zealand. As you can see from this kiwiblog post, the benefits are real!
